The Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST, President Kang Do-hyung) was awarded the Outstanding Fair-Hiring Institution Certification by the Korea Management Registrar (KMR) for its fifth consecutive year. It also received a certification plaque at a ceremony held at KMR’s head office on July 14 (Friday).
The certification recognizes entities that practice exemplary fair hiring based on job-related ability, eliminating prejudice in recruitment, based on screening results by a specialized certification institution.
There are three categories for assessment: recruitment system, recruitment operation, and recruitment performance. KIOST was selected as an Outstanding Fair-Hiring Institution by earning a total of 953 points, with superior results in all categories. It was also awarded a gold certification plaque for receiving the certification for five consecutive years.
※ Certification is granted to institutions that earn a total of 700 points in the first screening and 800 points in subsequent screenings, with a score of at least 60% in each category.
KIOST introduced blind hiring based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) in 2018 and has been conducting fair recruitment with a focus on job competency.
President Kang Do-hyung said, “KIOST will continue working to strengthen its transparent recruitment system, for which it has received the Outstanding Fair-Hiring Institution Certification for five years in a row.”
