On May 22, the head of KIOST gave a special lecture at Pohang University of Science and Technology under the theme of "Climate Crisis, Changes in the Marine Environment, and Response Direction of Marine Science and Technology."

This lecture was held at the invitation of the 2023 Hwandonghae Academy organized by the East Sea Committee (Chairman Lee Jae-won) of the POSTECH Convergence Civilization Research Institute about 70 people attended, including local students, civic group representatives, and Pohang city officials.

Various opinions from all walks of life have been expressed to respond to changes in the marine environment caused by the climate crisis with marine science and technology.
