On September 8 (Friday), KIOST held a briefing session with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries at the KIOST Busan headquarters on the Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine Biological diversity of areas Beyond National Jurisdiction.

This briefing session was the first to introduce the BBNJ agreement in detail to the industry, academia, environmental groups, and the general public. Keynote lectures on the background and significance of the BBNJ agreement, discussions with experts from all walks of life, and Q&A sessions were held.
